National Doughnut Day 2010

Jun 4th, 2010 is National Doughnut Day.

National Doughnut Day is the first Friday in June and was started in 1938 as a Salvation Army fundraiser to honor the donut “ladies” of WWI who took baked goods to the front lines.

Who needs to celebrate Father’s Day when you have National Donut Day this Friday?

West Virginia Mine Explosion

On April 5th, 2010, there happened a worst coal mine explosion, at Massey Energy underground coal mine in Raleigh country, situated about 48 kilometers from Charleston. The disaster took place around 3 PM in a chamber 1000 feet below ground killing at least 25 people and leaving 4 missing.

What is pi day?

Pi Day is celebrated on 14 March for the π that is a mathematical constant (Pi). Because first three digits if Pi (π) are 3, 1 and 4 therefore the Pi day falls on 14th March. This day is also the birthday of one of the biggest rockstars of science, Albert Einstein, therefore this day is also known as Einstein day.
