Mall of America

Mall of America is popularly known as Mega Mall. Mall of America was inaugurated in 1992, and is visited by over 35 million people each year.  This mall is the brainchild of the Triple Five Group of Ghermezian family based in Canada. They manage and run the property.

You will get an idea about the size of the mall by the fact that it can accommodate seven Yankee Stadiums. If you travel just one level of the mall by foot, you would have walked 0.57 miles. The steel used in constructing the mall is twice as much used in building Eiffel Tower. The mall is a green house in true sense as it houses 400 trees and 30000 plants.

If we talk about retail space, this is the second largest mall of the United States and ranks number one in terms of enclosed floor area. There are over 500 retail outlets at the mall. When you buy shoes and clothes at the mall, you do not pay any tax. For not so avid shoppers, you can enjoy the entertainment and leisure activities at the mall.  You can enliven the moments with the famous cartoon character at the ‘Nike’ theme park. The park has around 24 rides. The other attractions are:

Silicon Motor Speedway

Underwater Adventures® Aquarium

Moose Mountain Adventure Golf

A.C.E.S. Flight Simulation

In addition to this, you can enjoy at the multiplexes at the Mall of America. There is a section especially for VIP seating. And after all the hectic activity of entertainment, amusement and shopping, eat at the food courts at the mall. There are over 50 restaurants at the mall.

It may take you days to visit the entire mall.  For the benefit of the visitors, there is free shuttle service from the Minneapolis as well as St. Paul International Airport.
