Whats so special about Glidden Paint ?

Glidden paint debuted its new products and tools in New York City today, where dozens of Broadway dancers, with paint cans and paint brushes in hand, converged on the steps of Manhattan’s Union Square Park in an electrifying performance. The colorful dance, combined with a Glidden consumer exhibition, demonstrated how You Don’t Have to be a Painter to Love Glidden(TM) paint.

Available at The Home Depot(R) stores, the new Glidden paint is designed to help restore consumer confidence and simplify the color selection process, two factors often cited for preventing homeowners from starting or completing their painting projects. The new features include:

* A reduced color palette of 282 timeless colors — because you don’t need to look through 400 shades of blue to find the perfect one for you.
* Ready-to-go paint tester bottles, with a built-in brush, in any Glidden paint color for only $2.97.
* Larger color chips with coordinating accent colors and inspirational room photos on the back for the latest design idea.
* Top 10 color cards to help homeowners find the right color for their mood, location or season.

Consumers can also benefit from Glidden paint’s new superior quality formula, independently rated at the top of its class. The paint hides previous colors and minimizes brushmarks for an even, smooth finish that resists scuffing. Its enhanced durability makes it the perfect paint for high traffic areas of the home.

About Glidden Paint

The Glidden paint brand offers a rich tradition of innovation and color inspiration, having consistently embodied quality and performance for generations of customers. From the first latex paints that were developed and marketed under the Glidden brand decades ago, to today’s broad assortment of versatile paints serving consumers and paint contractors alike, the Glidden brand continues to reach new heights. Glidden paint is part of AkzoNobel and is a category leader in the company’s portfolio of internationally respected paint brands.

The federal government caps the VOC (solvents that get released into the air as the paint dries) content in paint at 250 grams per liter (g/l) for flat finishes and 380 g/l for other finishes (low-luster, semigloss, etc.). However, some manufacturers have opted to comply with more stringent limits—50 g/l for all finishes—set by California’s South Coast Air Quality Management District. These paints include such products as Benjamin Moore Aura, True Value Easy Care, and Glidden Evermore.

If you have an area of your home that could use a bit of paint, then check back with the Glidden Web site on June 25 for details on how to get a free quart of Glidden paint.

The company says it will have all of the details and the order form available on its Web site on June 25. Paint the date.
