Who was Stefanie Speilman?

Stefanie Speilman breathed her last on Thursday

The long battle with breast cancer is finally over for Stefanie Speilman. Stefanie, the wife of Chris Speilman, died on 19th November at a young age of 42.

Married to Chris Spielman, the NFL and Ohio State Star, Stefanie was 30 years old, when she lost the baby in miscarriage. At that time, she was detected of breast cancer.

Rather than grieving about the disease she and her husband together became the strongest advocates for detecting breast cancer and the related research work. They got engaged in fund raising events for breast cancer research. Together, they raised $6 million for the cause, by Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research.

Stefanie particularly helped young women who suffered from breast cancer and who were unable to meet the related expenses of the treatment.

For her contribution towards cancer patients, she was honored by including her in the Women’s Hall of fame in Ohio in the year 2002.

Stefanie suffered four bouts of cancer, the final being in last March.

Both Stefanie and Chris took the fight against the cancer bravely. Much is talked about their personal lives and the strong support Chris provided to her wife when she was passing through difficult phase in her life. Chris shaved off his hair, when Stefanie lost her hair due to Chemotherapy. Also, he forgo one year of his football career to stand by his wife and children as they faced troubled times with Stefanie’s health.

With Stefanie’s health, we have lost a star who lived bravely and lost bravely against the dreadful disease. Stefanie has been known amongst the cancer patients as a source of strength and courage.

Stefanie Spielman leaves behind her husband Chris and their four children, Madison, Macy Noah, and Audrey. She will always be remembered for her contribution towards cancer patients.
